Information Technology graduate Robert Santiago went from working in the strawberry fields of Oxnard to his dream job at Google. He got his start through our IT/Networking Program.

Our Oxnard College Computer Networking / Information Technology program prepares students for excellent career opportunities within a well-paid, high-growth field.

Recent alum Robert Santiago is just one of many OC graduates who have landed their “dream job.” Robert is now at Google, where he works as an IT Engineer in San Francisco. How did he get there? Through OC. As he says, “Oxnard College made this possible. I have great respect for Professor Alex Lynch and the curriculum at OC. Without going through the Networking/IT Program I wouldn’t be where I am now… It’s been a dream come true.”

Robert’s story is all the more notable in that he went from working in Ventura County’s farm fields to launching an exciting, transformative career. Again, he began his pivot at OC. What kept him coming to class, he says, was Professor Lynch. Since graduating, he has acquired many industry-valuable certificates and is currently working towards obtaining CCNA and Linux+ certification.

Robert is one of many OC graduates who have found their niche and success. We are pleased to share his story and congratulate Alex Lynch and the IT/Networking Program for opening big doors of opportunity to those with talent and drive
